The Problem

River Rebirth is an initiative that focuses on water pollution in Jakarta's rivers.

Jakarta is known as one of the most polluted cities in the world. Alarming statistics from the Environment and Forestry Ministry (KLHK) in 2022 reveal that a staggering 59% of rivers in Jakarta remain severely polluted. A study has estimated a daily average of 205 kg and an annual average of 74,825 kg of waste are discarded into Jakarta's rivers annually. Due to this fact, the city-owned water operator can only meet 55% of the city’s water needs, while the capital loses 4 m3 of clean water a second. beneath them.
